To determine the amount of wallpaper required, measure the width of your wall in inches, add a couple of inches to account for wall width variations, and divide that number by the width of the wallpaper roll (typically 24 inches). Round up to the next whole number to determine the number of panels needed.
Applying wallpaper to rough, bumpy, or newly painted walls (less than 30 days old) may be challenging, as the adhesive needs a smooth surface to adhere properly. A smooth, semi-gloss, or gloss paint finish works best.
Ensure your walls are clean, smooth, and free of defects. Repair any holes or cracks, and consider applying a wallpaper primer to create an optimal surface for adhesion.
While it’s possible, it’s generally not recommended. Old wallpaper can affect adhesion, potentially causing bubbling or peeling. Removing the old wallpaper first gives the best results.
The time it takes varies based on the room size, wall condition, and type of wallpaper. A single accent wall may take less than a day, while larger or more complex spaces may take longer
Measure the height and width of each wall to find the total square footage. Subtract the area of doors and windows, then add about 10–15% extra to account for pattern matching and future repairs.
Use a steamer or a wallpaper removal solution to soften the adhesive, then gently scrape the wallpaper off. Be sure to follow safety instructions and protect your walls during removal.
Yes, some wallpapers are designed for humid environments. Be sure to choose moisture-resistant wallpaper specifically made for bathrooms or kitchens to avoid peeling.
Dust wallpaper regularly with a soft brush or cloth. For spots or dirt, use a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or chemicals that might damage the surface.
Look for experience, good reviews, and a strong portfolio of work. Make sure they understand the specifics of your project and offer some form of workmanship guarantee.
